Trinity College Triumphs in All Island School Games Weightlifting Championship
Trinity College’s iron sportsmen have clinched the overall championship at the All Island School Games weightlifting meet, held in Polonnaruwa.
The team’s stellar performance saw them bagging the Under 17, Under 20, and Overall titles.
The Under 17 weightlifters, a group of promising young talents, didn’t disappoint.
They dominated their category, racking up a total of 13 points and securing the Age Group Championship. Royal College, Polonnaruwa, trailed behind with 11 points, landing the first runner-up position.
The senior lifters also put up a strong show, pocketing the first position with 14 points.
Standout performances included Yasan Kavsidu and Sadil Angammana, who both clinched first place in their respective weight categories.
Kudos to their Coach M. Wijeratne and MIC K. Galagoda for their relentless support in steering the team to peak body performance.
Trinity College’s weightlifting prowess continues to shine, embodying the sporting spirit of the institution.
