Before folks start sending me abuse, I’ll come right out and say that you cannot rely on just weight loss supplements to burn fat.

Yes, they may give that extra motivation, but you’ll still have to combine them with a healthy diet and exercise routine.

Overall, though, for the majority of women we support, fat burner supplements have become an effective tool to get to weight and fitness goals faster.

Leanbean and Powher are the two favorites here at the office, so we decided to see if there was a scientific way to see which may have the best results.

What Is Leanbean?

leanbean

Leanbean is a weight loss and fat burner supplement that has been designed with a female-friendly formula.

Ultimate Life Ltd, the company that makes it, claims that it was one of the first products that specifically looked at the needs of women.

Well, if you’ve ever had to measure out smaller doses of a fitness supplement, then you know how annoying that might be.

And, of course, there could be plenty of room for error.

Beyond claiming to function as a fat burner, Leanbean contains ingredients that are also claimed to work as an appetite suppressant.

For many women that we have worked with in the past, being able to avoid those hunger cravings would be a big plus.

All those secret trips to the snack shelf quickly add up.

What Is Powher?

Powher Cut Product

Leanbean is a weight loss and fat burner supplement that has been designed with a female-friendly formula.

Ultimate Life Ltd, the company that makes it, claims that it was one of the first products that specifically looked at the needs of women.

Well, if you’ve ever had to measure out smaller doses of a fitness supplement, then you know how annoying that might be.

And, of course, there could be plenty of room for error.

More on this below.

But it could also serve as an important way to increase your mental focus during your workday and trips to the gym as well.

However, rather than send you into a day of jitters, the formula takes into account that many women may tolerate lower doses of caffeine.

And, of course, you might not want to skip that morning brew either.

With both products being female-friendly, why would this be important for your body?

Advantages Of A Female Formula

pills banner

Until recently, most fat burners on the market were a generic formula for the average adult.

However, that does make things a bit more complicated when it comes to getting the optimum health benefits. Let’s take a closer look

1 - No More Partial Doses

With non-gender specific supplements, a lot of female athletes would need to calculate dosage adjustments to better suit their body size and metabolism.

And that can be one hell of a pain in the you-know-what.

Even performance athletes would need to make calculations for each serving depending on their current training routine and overall goals for fat loss.

2 - Proven Ingredients For Women

While quite a lot of ingredients in supplements may be suitable for men and women, there are some that could be more or less suitable.

In some cases, you could end up taking a formula that wouldn’t provide optimum results for your metabolism.

That’s not the best use of your money and efforts.

3 - Avoiding The Jitters

One thing my dietitian pointed out, is that women, in general, may be more sensitive to stimulants like caffeine [1].

During our research, we’ve encountered products that have as much caffeine as three or more regular cups of coffee.

Just imagine the results of that on a daily basis.

Researchers concluded that cortisol is elevated in men as the result of caffeine’s effect on the central nervous system, while in women, this occurs from caffeine interacting with peripheral metabolic mechanisms.

What Are The Common Ingredients?

ingredients

The first thing to mention about the ingredients is that both products use only natural ingredients with nothing dodgy mixed in.

However, they only have three overlapping ingredients, so we decided to look at these first.

1 - Konjac Fibre/Glucomannan

This seems to be quite a popular ingredient in weight loss supplements. Glucomannan is a form of dietary fiber that transforms into a gel-like substance in your stomach. Studies have shown that it may be effective at making you feel full for longer [2].

That could help you to eat less and lose weight faster.

2 - Choline

This is one of the more interesting minerals where research suggests a lack of it could create a bottleneck in fat metabolism [4].

Apparently, it may play a role in your muscles' ability to process fat into energy.

3 - Chromium Picolinate

Chromium is a trace mineral that has been ignored by the diet industry for a long time. However, when studies showed results that it helps with regulating blood sugar levels, it was quickly picked up [3].

What Are The Unique Ingredients?

unique ingredients

The next thing we did was look at the unique ingredients in each of the products. And there are some interesting fat burning effects to note.

Let’s start with the Leanbean ingredients.

Unique Leanbean Ingredients

1 - Vitamin B6 And B12

Vitamins and minerals are important for many aspects of your body, including your immune system. But many people overlook vitamins when it comes to their metabolism.

The B vitamins, in particular, have been linked to breaking down carbs and fat into energy.

These [B] vitamins help a variety of enzymes do their jobs, ranging from releasing energy from carbohydrates and fat to breaking down amino acids and transporting oxygen and energy-containing nutrients around the body.

piperine

2 - Piperine

This is an extract from black pepper, and according to our dietitian, it helps your digestive system with nutrient absorption. Faster digestion could help with losing some extra pounds.

3 - Chloride

You’ll often see this on energy drinks as potassium chloride, and it’s not directly linked to burning fat. Instead, it may help with hydration levels and digestive functions.

4 - Zinc

This seems to be more common in sports supplements these days. Some research information we looked at suggested that this mineral may be needed to more effectively deal with digesting carbs.

5 - Green Coffee Bean

Green coffee beans are the raw coffee beans that would normally be roasted to make your morning brew. In the unroasted form, they contain very little caffeine. But green coffee beans are known to have detox properties that may help you filter out free radicals.

These beans also contain chlorogenic acid, which may also boost your metabolic rate.

Turmeric for weight loss

6 - Turmeric

This is another popular weight loss supplement ingredient. Of all of them, we found that turmeric had the largest number of studies to support its thermogenic effects.

That means you process some extra calories even when your body is resting.

7 - Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia cambogia is an Asian fruit that you’ll find in some health food stores and fresh fruit markets.

I couldn’t confirm if it supports actual fat loss, but some studies suggest that it may be an effective appetite suppressant [5].

8 - Acai Berry

This is the one ingredient where there seems to be the most controversy in the scientific community. I couldn’t find conclusive studies to confirm it would be a fat burner. But there is evidence that it could be a good antioxidant booster.

Unique Powher Ingredients

1 - Natural Caffeine

I know, so many people are surprised that a cup of coffee could actually help you lose weight. But caffeine has been proven to trigger thermogenic processes to burn off some extra calories throughout the day.

2 - Magnesium

For most athletes, this is going to be a popular mineral as it may be tied to your muscle performance and ability to recover from training. If you start taking Leanbean, you wouldn’t need to buy a separate magnesium supplement.

Magnesium contributes to flexibility and helps to prevent injury by loosening tight muscles. Without enough magnesium, muscles can’t properly relax, possibly causing cramps.

3 - Iron

This is one mineral that women, in particular, are most commonly deficient in.

It may be needed for the transportation of energy around your body and a healthy immune system.

4 - Selenium

Selenium mainly works as an antioxidant to remove free radicals.

But it may also boost thyroid function to release more hormones that may regulate your metabolism.

Which One Is The Stronger Fat Burner?

measuring waist banner

Weight loss is often a big struggle for men and women. One thing we often find is that reaching a plateau becomes very demotivating.

It’s that dreaded situation where you’re not at your goal, and no matter what you do seems to have any effect.

The last thing you want to do at that stage is to spend your money on a fat burner that isn’t the most efficient.

Here’s what our research and testing revealed.

Our Test Results

test thumb

Our team has personally and with clients used both supplements. We tested it for general weight management and athletic cutting phases.

By keeping a detailed journal of diet, supplement intake, and exercise, we then measure BMI over an 8-week period.

From a fat burning perspective, we found that our results were a little bit better with Leanbean. But there’s another important factor.

Don’t Ignore Appetite Suppression

These supplements claim to have a formula that doesn’t just give a good boost to your metabolic rate. But each product also states that it could provide results for suppressing appetite.

This is where it was quite a close call. But again, the feedback we got seemed to indicate that Leanbean may extend fasting periods that little bit more.

Leanbean Pros And Cons

leanbean

As far as a fat burner supplement goes, Leanbean is one of the few that doesn’t rely on caffeine.

This could cause jitters and trouble sleeping, especially if you enjoy a few cups of coffee during the day as well.

We’re also impressed with the guarantee that Ultimate Life offers clients.

With a bulk order, that’s up to 90 days. Just keep in mind that you’ll have to swallow six capsules per day, so set a reminder on your phone.

Pros
  • Contains no stimulants to help women avoid the jitters
  • No known side effects from natural herbs and minerals
  • Online review comments highlight that it may suppress hunger quite effectively
  • Full money-back guarantee up to 90 days if you’re not satisfied
Cons
  • Make sure you set a reminder to take two capsules three times a day

Powher Pros And Cons

Powher Cut Product

As a fat burner supplement, Powher does seem to have a good choice of scientifically researched ingredients.

Based on review comments, it seems like the amount of glucomannan per serving may be helping women to bridge longer gaps between meals to help them eat less.

While you will be taking six capsules per day, it’s important to not plan the last ones too late to avoid a sleepless night.

Pros
  • A good mental boost from caffeine to keep you motivated
  • No reported side effects from clients or online review comments
  • Claims to have a good dose of glucomannan to suppress hunger cravings
Cons
  • Stimulants mean timing intake later in the day is important

When Should You Take Them?

alarm clock and plate

The official label information says to take each serving of two capsules about 30 minutes before breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

And based on the fat burner review comments we read, that seems to work best for most women. However, you could adjust that time range to as low as 10 minutes and as high as one hour.

There does seem to be some evidence that they might burn fat more effectively if you take the supplement longer before eating.

One thing I would mention is that you could take Leanbean later in the day at times when stimulants would otherwise keep you awake.

How Long Will They Work?

man with watch

The good thing about these two fat burner supplement products is that you take multiple capsules throughout the day.

That might seem annoying to remember, but as a result, you would spread the recommended dose out over the entire day.

Generally speaking, though, the metabolic processes could last for a range of about one to three hours.

I would also recommend that you take the product at the same time so that your body gets used to a regular supply to help maximize the weight loss effects.

Do They Have Any Side Effects?

side effects

Because both fat burning supplement products are based on natural ingredients, there is only a limited risk of side effects.

In most cases, this would be down to taking a product that may contain ingredients that you might be allergic to. That’s why you should always check the label.

Also, keep in mind that some folks might be better off to buy a product that is free from caffeine to avoid the jitters and some sleepless nights.

How Do They Compare On Price?

price

How Much Does Leanbean Cost?

Leanbean is a premium-priced fat burner, at least based on the latest offers on the official website.

However, you could take advantage of a great bulk-offer price where you get three bottles with a fourth bottle for free.

How Much Does Powher Cost?

Powher is on a similar price point as Leanbean according to the current office from its official website.

However, it doesn't offer as much savings with bulk orders, making Powher a bit more expensive.

And if I’m honest, I think the higher price of Powher doesn’t seem that justified as we got some better results with Leanbean.

Note that these prices may change, so I advise you to visit the Leanbean or Powher official website for the most up to date cost.

Which Product Should You Choose?

My personal recommendation is that you should give the Leanbean fat burner a try first.

Our team’s experience with clients has indicated that it seems to be the more effective of the two fat burners.

Of all the online fat burner review comments from women, Leanbean also seems to be the one product most of them keep going back to.

About the author

  • So I searched the web to for the best fitness app and now I can’t choose from noom coach vs myfitnesspal. Let me consider your opinion so I can move on lol

  • While I was eager to have a go at something new and was energized by the idea of a mentor, I couldn’t effectively explore the application on the little screen of my telephone. I quit following using it after three days when my disappointment overpowered me. I would have been increasingly intrigued had they offered an organization I could have utilized on my PC with a bigger screen. I am 68 years of age. Maybe, I don’t fit the versatile application profile of glad application clients as it is hard for me for my age. In any case, thanks again for your incredible correlation, Mr Isaac. Still on my way to discover the program that best fits me.

  • I love both! I can’t decide which one I like better — they both do it differently for me. For example, I love the first one because of the mentorship and accountability, but the second is great of track ing my intake. It has a massive list of options. It’s very helpful because almost everything in my kitchen is in there. Makes recording my lunches and dinners very convenient. Overall, I use both and am satisfied. I like the c oaching part of the software although I’ve read somewhere that not all of the c oaches are good and some don’t check in consistently. In that case, they have to make sure that all clients get the same experience.

  • I love my software!!! I think it’s a good way to monitor my system and overall eating habits on my phone, so easy and convenient. Personally, I like the first one because I’m able to speak to someone regarding my concerns. I’m very new with this whole thing and am conscious about going to the g y m so at least I have someone I can talk to online. I like the accountabilit y part of the product despite the fact that some users actually complain that their buddy isn’t that helpful at all. But personally for me, I enjoy talking to mine, I like the support, and I’m looking forward to our sessions together.

  • Hello Isaac, I appreciate your insight. I’ve been contemplating on these two products, I’ve read tons of other blogs comparing the two and I get more confused! It seems like both are good. But after reading yours, I think I will go with the first. I like the idea of having a co ach because I have tried soooo many fads and none of them worked for me because I lose motivation after some time. I need someone to look after my progress and be able to motivate me to go for it! Besides, the price isn’t that much either, so I think it will be worth it. I mean, compared to having someone in person. Aside from that, I really like the simplicity of the user interface. It’s friendly and functional overall

  • I value your blog so much. Really helpful for people like us! I’ve been examining these two items, I’ve perused huge amounts of different online journals contrasting the two and I get progressively befuddled. It appears as though both are acceptable. But I like having a co each, I have attempted numerous di ets and I lose inspiration quickly after some time. I need somebody to take care of me and have the option to inspire me to take the plunge! I figure the cost will be justified, despite the other being free. That is to say, contrasted with having somebody face to face. and I truly like the straightforwardness of the UI of the software

  • I’m a runner and I’m very conscious of what I put in my body, I love using my cellular phone for my health and regimen because it’s so convenient and easy and there’s no better way to do it than on the mobile. I like the very basic interface, it’s easy to use and there are so many functions I can do! I’m also even able to talk to someone to track my progress. I even recommended it to my friends in the track and field community! Most of them love to use it as well. I am looking forward to the next update

  • Hi Isaac, my name is Van, I’m 21 and am struggling to bulk up. I have been reading your page since the start of this year. I really really want to build some muscles and gain some pounds and your tips on your blog have helped me jumpstart my journey! I am also looking at starting my own blogging space! I want to document my life and have a memory of how I start with this journey. And maybe even be one of your colleagues here online. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this blog, you inspire me and am looking forward to more learning from you

  • My friend recommended this application to me because he lost over 40 pounds using it for about 6 months. He has gotten so lean and healthy and I was inspired to follow suit. He now looks 10 years younger and has a lot of vigor and strength and really looks good overall. He’s been exercising a lot, maybe around 3-4 times every week, and his muscles are slowly becoming more defined. He credited the app and told me it has changed his life and the way he views exercise and food. I am just about 15 lbs over weight and I can’t wait to lose all the excess pounds using it.

  • I am loving this page!!! Thank you for putting up such great content. So much valuable information and I am learning a lot. I’m new to bodybuilding and my goal is to join my first competition next year! I am working with a coach and have been doing my exercises religiously and have also been tracking my intake. I love it. It gives me the figures I need to track and makes me more aware of my progress. I’m excited to finally join my first competition!!! Thank you totalshape and to my coach and to the app, you all have been so helpful in my journey

  • Hi Van, we are on the same page right now. I am also trying to gain weight and build some muscles and this app has helped me a lot. It has only been 4 months since I started but I have gained significant muscle already. My girlfriend loves it and my friends have been noticing the changes. I feel good and I am continuing my efforts to bulk up even more. I am so happy because I have been under weight since I was 12 and now 10 years later, my pectorals and abs are showing! I have more energy during the day too.

  • I like Noom for accountability, but it’s food tracking is FAR inferior to My Fitness Pal. It has the wrong calorie count for almost everything I’ve tracked my first two weeks. Raisins showed less than 1/4 of the true calorie count! I wish Noom would sync with MFP, so I can use Noom’s other good features but log meals in MFP. I have flagged every error in Noom because the calories are so far off, but it gets annoying. If accuracy is important to you (and it should be), understand that Noom would have underestimated my calories by several hundred per day. That could completely derail weight loss plans.

  • Have to say, I will totally disagree with the verdict of Noom for the Calorie Count when it comes to accuracy. I’m a current Noom subscriber and while I absolutely love the program and have had great success with it, the food entry is far and away the most frustrating part of the experience. Not only is the barcode scanner touchy and hard to get to focus (at least on Android), the accuracy is all over the place. I’ve had countless times where I’ve scanned the barcode, and the details that come up don’t match the nutrition data printed on the package in my hand. The same thing comes when searching products by name. I like that Noom allows user entry, but it seems they do a very poor job of vetting the data.

I love pretty much everything else with regards to Noom, but the food intake tracker is a major shortcoming in the program.
