After assembling and using the product, I can confirm it is well worth the price. It’s comparable to units selling at Amazon for over $200 not including shipping, and this was only $118 including shipping. Do not compare this to portable units or dip bars that are added as an afterthought to so-called ‘power tower’ products. This is a proper sturdy stand-alone dip bar. Pair this with a good proper pullup bar or rings, either standalone or ceiling mounted, and you have a complete gym. Of particular note with this unit is the diameter of the grip. It’s slightly larger than most other units selling at Amazon, and even smaller hands will appreciate the difference. The foam padding is comfortable to use but not so cushy that you will have issues with proprioception or feel disconnected from the bar. The height is another great feature as it allows you to maintain a proper hollow position, keeping your legs mostly straight, or add weight via a hip belt and plates if you choose. I would add weight by hooking a kettlebell on my feet or perhaps using a vest, but the belt and plate option can sometimes be easier to find and many people are accustomed to that method. The unit is plenty sturdy to allow me to do hollow position or L-sit position dips with no issues or concerns, something I can’t say for other units. Whatever your dipping style, preference, or size, you (and your wallet) will like this dip stand.Assembly was easy. Don’t overtighten the nuts and start bending the metal. I oriented the crossbar with the logo facing the short side of the base and the short side of the handles so that the short side had the narrower gap and the long side wider. It’s possible to assemble it somewhat wrong, I suppose, so take your time and pay attention to how things fit together. Long side = wide side.
