So, why am I spending valuable time looking at a ​supplement called Instant Knockout?

Basically, I couldn’t ignore the reports I was receiving from friends and colleagues, and most importantly, the company doesn’t claim it’ll work without fixing your diet and putting in the hard work through exercise.

So, let’s dive right in and find out what it’s all about.

Instant Knockout is a dietary supplement that acts as a fat burner to promote healthy weight loss. 

Unlike many other “competing” products, this one actually doesn’t claim that you’ll go from flabby couch potato to slim and ripped model just by taking some pills.

According to the makers, it was originally developed for MMA fighters who needed something to help them cut as much fat as quickly as possible. And, that had to happen without losing any muscle mass.

That’s a tough ask, but through a unique blend of ingredients, Instant Knockout has stumbled onto something that seems to work for performance athletes and the average Joe.

Before I started taking it, I had a chat with my dietician to go over the ingredients and see whether she had any problems with them or the claims attached.

The good news is that all the ingredients have featured in scientific studies with proven benefits for increasing your metabolic rate (we’ll cover what’s in it shortly).

The idea is actually quite simple. You take one capsule several times a day and go about your life with a healthy diet and exercise trips to the gym. But rather than only burn fat, while you’re working hard, your body will extend the fat burning for longer parts of the day.

In addition to burning any fat reserves you have, it will also suppress the ability to store new fat. The added bonus from getting rid of all the flabby stuff is that it increases your energy output.

So, with my dietician giving it an initial thumbs up, I decided to look into more online reviews to see what kind of results users were experiencing.

Let’s start with the positives.

As with every single ​supplement available, Instant Knockout does make some tall claims about how well it works for cutting and weight loss.

But, the first positive I had to note is that it’s not advertised like snake oil. The creators make it very clear that it has to be part of a solid exercise routine to be effective.

The second thing I noticed a lot of people talk about is that with Instant Knockout they no longer need to stack multiple different supplements. If you’re serious about your weight and fitness goals, then you know how quickly you can end up with 3 or more products to take.

Instant Knockout combines a load of ingredients to achieve multiple goals in one go.

All that fat burning does have to result in something (energy in = energy out and all that) and that is something that many people I talked to found great about Instant Knockout. Because you take it several times a day, it’s possible to maintain higher physical and mental energy levels.

Personally, I didn’t notice that much of a suppressed appetite, but I do have a tailored diet plan that includes a lot of fillers that are low in calories.

But, there were some comments in Facebook groups where people shared quite positive appetite results.

If you’re sensitive to stimulants, then you should be aware that each pill contains 75 grams of caffeine. Over the course of a day the recommended dose is 4 capsules, so that’s a total of 300 mg.

Personally, I need to avoid it after 4 pm, otherwise, I end up having trouble sleeping.

Also, keep this in mind if you drink a lot of tea or coffee, as you can end up feeling jittery.

I also saw a few people say they struggle to swallow pills.

First of all, I have to give full kudos to the makers, as they don’t hide behind a proprietary blend.
The nutrition label gives you all the info on macros including vitamins and minerals, and there is no “secret sauce” behind the natural substances.

Everything that goes into this product is published, and this is very important to avoid taking something that you may know you have allergies to.

Let’s dive right into nerdy stuff.

But, it also contains a polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate (just call it EGSG), which works wonders in combination with caffeine. (1)

Studies have shown that the two provide a larger boost in thermogenesis than when applied individually.

However, getting enough EGSG to make a difference is not so easy, that’s why this extract is a pretty good idea.

Green tea is very popular with dieticians and nutritionists mainly for the large boost of antioxidants it provides from a very natural product.

You might be thinking that this seems a bit odd and should actually be added to your hot and spicy meals. But, natural cayenne pepper seeds pack a lot more than a spicy flavor and deliver two helpful benefits.

First of all, it acts to promote thermogenesis which basically increases your body temperature by burning calories stored in fat.

Secondly, it contains capsaicin which has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity. (2) As a result, your body changes the way and how much fat is actually stored.

Having it in these capsules beats adding it to your food if you don’t like the strong flavor it has.

This strange sounding product is actually an extract from the konjac plant and is basically pure dietary fiber. 

The great thing about it is that it won’t be digested and passes straight through your stomach. That means you won’t actually increase your carb intake causing glucose spikes.

What it does do very well is give you a sense of fullness, and it will reduce cravings for heavy carb-rich foods.

It also works wonders to slow down your digestion to make sure you absorb as many nutrients as possible.

Glucomannan differs from most other soluble fibers, as it's exceptionally viscous, making it particularly effective for weight loss.

If you’re a coffee drinker like me, then you have to be careful with Instant Knockout. If you take the full daily dose of 4 pills, then you will be taking in 300 mg.

That’s equivalent to about three 8-ounce cups of coffee.

One recent study showed a direct correlation between energy output and taking caffeine. It was actually a surprising 16% more energy being burnt in the study group.

As well as burn more energy, it will sharpen your mental focus, but if you’re not careful, then you can quickly overdo it resulting in jitters and insomnia.

OK, enough of the science lecture, what does this actually mean?

Basically, B12 is required for practically all cells in your body to repair and reproduce. And. that’s exactly what you need to build more defined muscles.

And the red blood cells are vital for transporting oxygen around your body.

It’s actually a mineral that I hadn’t paid much attention to, but there is a good bit of evidence that it plays a key role in insulin sensitivity and fat storage.

It’s unclear whether it actually helps to burn stored body fat, but with boosted insulin production it will help to reduce how much energy is actually stored as fat.

This is another mineral that has a surprising amount of advantages.

First of all, it is directly linked to testosterone production, and we all know how important this simple hormone is when it comes to building muscle.

Now, it won’t give you massive spikes, and it certainly isn’t on any banned supplement lists, but if you’re deficient in zinc, then you could struggle with muscle growth.

Secondly, your metabolism needs it to turn both carbs and fat into raw energy.

According to the makers, this helps to improve performance during training.

Piperine is an extract from black pepper and similar to B6, it has a dual benefit. (3)

The final item on this list of ingredients is the green coffee bean -- and before you think this will just increase caffeine levels even more, it’s actually an extract from unroasted coffee beans.

So, if it doesn’t bring caffeine to the table, what does it do?

Basically, it brings a substance called chlorogenic acid which several studies have shown to aid in both fat loss and a reduction in fat absorption.

The advantage of this is that you spread out all the benefits and maximize the fat burning effect over a longer period.

The creators suggest taking the first one immediately in the morning as it can give you that mental boost to kickstart your day.

But, to avoid jitters and insomnia later on in the day, I would advise to not take them any later than 3 or 4 pm. This gives you plenty of time to get the best results and lose weight.
