Redcon1 Total War Ingredients

Supplement facts of Redcon1 Total War

The ingredients in Total War make it a more substantial product than some pre-workouts on the market. You get the right dose of each ingredient per scoop at a quite decent price.

Here's the breakdown of ingredients:

Beta-Alanine

Beta-Alanine is an amino acid that upregulates carnosine production.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information says that a daily intake of 4000 to 6000 mg of Beta-Alanine can boost muscle carnosine levels [1].

So, it's safe to say that 3200 mg of Beta-Alanine can boost muscle endurance and exercise capacity.

Consuming it every day will also strengthen the body's immune system due to its antioxidant properties.

It's good to know that this ingredient can give that harmless "Beta-Alanine tingles" aftereffect on your skin.

bag and spoonful of coffee beans

Caffeine

Caffeine is a natural stimulant. Total War has two types of it, totaling about 325 milligrams. I believe that's a high amount.

Research suggests that a healthy person can consume up to 400 milligrams of caffeine daily. However, it's best to check your tolerance first.

2.1 Di-Caffeine Malate

Di-Caffeine Malate is a 100-milligram compound. It has 75 milligrams of caffeine and 25 milligrams of malic acid.

Di-Caffeine Malate is known for its smoother and more solid energy boost compared to caffeine anhydrous.

2.2 Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine Anhydrous is basically caffeine without water.

The 250-milligram dosage in this formula can give you immediate sharp mental alertness.

However, the effects of Caffeine Anhydrous may wear off quickly compared to Di-Caffeine Malate.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea leaf extract is commonly consumed as a mood enhancer and fat burner.

However, most companies rarely include green tea extract in pre-workout formulas.

This supplement's 45 mg dose has antioxidants. They may help with weight and mood.

Agmatine Sulfate

Agmatine Sulfate is a metabolite of the amino acid L-Arginine.

At 1000 milligrams, Agmatine Sulfate can help regulate nitric oxide. It relaxes smooth muscles and dilates blood vessels.

It helps blood circulate better. It delivers more nutrients and oxygen to muscles, especially during intense exercise.

Citrulline Malate

L-Citrulline Malate is a joint compound with the highest dosage of 6000 milligrams in this formula.

It comprises 4000 milligrams of L-Citrulline and 2000 milligrams of Malic acid.

L-Citrulline boosts nitric oxide for a great pump. Malic acid increases energy for better performance.

Together, they improve muscle oxygenation and energy, increasing overall exercise capacity.

Bioperine

Bioperine or Black Pepper Extract is a substance that offers safe and powerful health benefits.

Dosed at 10 milligrams, it can help your cells absorb all the nutrients from the ingredients in this pre-workout [2].

"Black Pepper may also enhance the absorption of some nutrients."

- Keith Singletary, Professor Emeritus of Nutrition at the University of Illinois

Though it sounds like a tiny dose, I think it's a brilliant addition to the formula.

Juniper Extract

Juniper Extract, or AMPiBerry, is a powerful ingredient from Juniperus communis. It's used to replace Dimethylhexylamine, or DMHA.

The presence of AMPiBerry may be beneficial for speeding up digestion and nutrient absorption even at a low dose of 150 milligrams.

Juniper Extract is widely accepted as an anti-inflammatory substance that promotes overall well-being.

Taurine

A study on PubMed says taurine is an amino sulfonic acid. It regulates your cells' fluid and electrolyte balance.

Taurine can help promote healthy brain function and muscle development at 1000 milligrams.

It is also known to regulate arterial pressure, so your system supports good blood flow that pumps you up for high-intensity exercises.

slices of fresh grapefruit and oranges

Naringin

Naringin is a flavonoid that can be extracted from grapes and citrus fruits.

The 25-milligram dose is a good addition that can help you sustain more extended strength training.

Naringin's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties speed muscle recovery after training.

CocophenolsTM

CocophenolsTM is a combination of Theobroma cacao & Camellia sinensis leaf extract.

Theobromine stimulates your brain to be fully awake. Its extract from Camellia sinensis leaf reduces mood disorders.

Also, Theobromine is known to lower blood pressure because it acts as a vasodilator.

The combined dose of 5 milligrams may strengthen your immune system and support weight management.

Can Total War Match Other Pre-Workouts?

man working out shirtless and another man flexing his biceps

Yes, Total War can match other fat-blasting pre-workouts due to its multiple benefits.

The supreme blend of ingredients gives this supplement a great edge.

Like other fat burners, it can increase blood flow, which can improve workout performance.

It boosts energy and endurance. You can exercise longer and build muscle faster.

The anti-inflammatory ingredients help heal muscles after workouts. Antioxidants also prevent oxidative damage, thus promoting overall health and fitness.

As far as I am concerned, it’s one of the supplements that deliver on its claims. It took me approximately an hour and a half to get the whole exhilarating experience.

Other pre-workouts we've reviewed:

Value For Your Money

man with money and giving thumbs up

Redcon1 is a valuable health investment in the market today due to its affordability and great taste.

Price

With a price point of $34.88 for 30 servings, it is competitively priced at $1.16 per serving. Not to mention penny-wise, because you get everything on the label.

A single tub weighs 441g for 30 servings. It's cheap and should last for months, depending on your exercise frequency.

Taste

Total War comes in more than 20 flavors. So, if you're in the mood for different flavors, you might want to try a couple of good options.

Here are some must-try flavors:

  • Blue lemonade flavor
  • Green apple flavor
  • Rainbow candy flavor
  • Tiger's blood
  • Sour gummy bear
  • Strawberry mango flavor
  • Orange crush flavor
  • Strawberry kiwi flavor

To me, the tiger's blood tasted like cherry coconut. It's very rich in taste with a bit of sweetness. One friend told me to taste the strawberry mango as it's also a must-try.

How to Take Total War?

To take Redcon1 Total War, mix one scoop with four to six ounces of water. One serving size weighs 14.7 grams, which contains the exact clinical dose of each ingredient stated on the label.

Next, shake your mixture until the residue dissolves. Based on our tests, it might leave some noticeable residue, but you won't taste or feel it in your mouth.

Finally, drink it up 30 minutes before your fitness routine.

Are There Side Effects to Taking Total War?

A woman experiencing itchy skin as a side effect

There are side effects to taking Total War, but they are harmless. Upon drinking Total War, you may feel a tingling sensation on your skin. The itchy feeling occurs because of Beta-Alanine.

However, this aftereffect is a sure indicator that the supplement is working in your system.

Also, the high content of caffeine in the formula might increase your heart rate.

During my testing phase, I didn't notice a high increase in my heart rate, so I think you're good to go.

Depending on your health, you can test your caffeine tolerance. Mix half a scoop of the supplement to do this.

In my experience, I started to feel the tingling sensation fifteen minutes after I consumed the whole mixture without food. So, I’m guessing the formula works faster on an empty stomach.

Pros
  • Full label transparency
  • Cost-effective and easy to prepare
  • Speed up weight loss and increase muscle endurance
  • Enjoy the refreshing and great tasting flavors
Cons
  • It may feel a little itchy due to its Beta-Alanine content
  • Lacking other ingredients that can boost more focus

But just like any other product, you may encounter its fair share of imperfections as well.

Pre-Workout Alternatives

We looked at how Total War compares to three of our favorite pre-workouts. Read on to find out what we learned.

4 Gauge

The manufacturer worked with dietitians, nutritionists, and athletes to develop 4-Gauge. It is a pre-workout with, they say, maximum effectiveness.

We tested it. In clinical trials, users who took 4 Gauge reported improved focus and energy during workouts. It helped them power through even the most intense sessions.

Our dietitians believe the high doses in 4 Gauge are likely responsible for our test group's great results. They are 6000 mg of L-citrulline DL-malate and 1000 mg of creatine monohydrate.

Comparatively, Total War contains the same amount of citrulline DL malate but no creatine monohydrate. Our test group did not feel the tingling sensation from Total War. It was due to 4 Gauge not containing beta-alanine.

4 Gauge contains more caffeine than Total War and adds L-theanine, which works well with caffeine for increased energy and focus.

Gorilla Mode

From the makers of the nootropic Gorilla Mind Rush comes a pre-workout. It boosts nitric oxide with key ingredients to enhance muscle strength and endurance. They are L-citrulline, creatine monohydrate, and betaine.

Our text group was impressed. Gorilla Mode mixed with water better than other pre-workout supplements. It had fast-acting effects.

At 15.245 grams, a one-scoop serving is slightly more than Total War. I liked that the label gave quick nutritional info for two scoops.

Total War contains more caffeine than Gorilla Mode. Still, the consensus in our test group was the content in Gorilla mode was enough to increase energy without causing any adverse effects.

Gorilla Mode and Total War offer over a dozen flavor options, so you will likely find something you like, including fan-favorite Tiger’s Blood.

Transparent Labs

Transparent Labs PreSeries Bulk is a pre-workout supplement that packs a punch. Our dietitians confirm that this formula can help. It can kick-start muscle growth, boost energy, and increase endurance.

When comparing the two pre-workouts, I noted that both Transparent Labs and Total War contain 6000 mg of Citrulline Malate. However, Total War packs a more potent caffeine punch with 250 mg compared to Transparent Labs, 180 mg.

Our volunteer group put Transparent Labs to the test and found that it mixed well and provided a noticeable boost in focus and energy. And the consensus was clear: strawberry lemonade flavor is a fan favorite.

Pricing for Transparent Labs is on par with Total War and other well-known pre-workout supplements. You can take advantage of some incentives by ordering from the official website.

Our Verdict on Redcon1 Total War

Total War is an effective and good pre-workout supplement to enhance overall performance. My experience with Total War shows it is an effective product. I felt the need to share this in my Redcon1 Total War pre-workout review.

However, for users who are sensitive to caffeine, I would rather recommend 4 Gauge.

While using 4 Gauge, it increased my energy levels and mental concentration even with lower doses of caffeine than Redcon1.

Another striking aspect is that 4 Gauge does not have that tingling effect on the skin, which often bothers me during my workouts.

So, if you're caffeine intolerant but still want an effective pre-workout to boost your routine, I recommend you order 4 Gauge here.
