The Summer House star Amanda Batula might not have struck many fans as having weight issues. But when I saw her Bravo TV interview, I was intrigued by the simple changes she made to lose weight.

To figure out what exactly she did, our team spent a day going through interviews and her Instagram stories to see why her approach was so effective.

We also got our dietitian to review the details she shared about her diet.

And it seems there are two things she does to make sure her favorite pair of jeans always fit perfectly.

Quick Summary

  • The Summer House star, whose first official season was season 2, came out with a public Instagram story about her changed physique.
  • For Amanda Batula, weight loss became an issue as she feared that the gained weight in the second season of Summer House would keep piling on.
  • Focusing on her macros and intermittent fasting seem to be the two things that had the biggest impact.

How Did Amanda Batula Lose So Much Weight?

Amanda Batula managed to lose a lot of weight by carefully monitoring her macronutrients and introducing intermittent fasting.

Her husband, Kyle Cooke, has also mentioned that she isn't much of a fan of working out at the gym [1].

This is what we found particularly interesting as she has reported a total weight loss of about 20 pounds, and normally you would expect that to include quite a strict workout as well.

But when our dietitian took a closer look at how the Summer House actress manages her dieting, it all started to make sense.

Stats

  • Born: July 24, 1991
  • Height: 5'7"
  • Starting Weight: 148 lbs
  • Total Weight Loss: 20 lbs

How Did She Change Her Diet?

Amanda Batula changed her diet by switching to a balanced fodmap diet.

That means cutting down on sugar and carbs, and it especially focuses on reducing fermentable carbs, which is why the diet is often recommended for people with irritable bowel syndrome [2].

She has also mentioned that she regularly drinks Bulletproof coffee, which is essentially a butter coffee with brain octane oil and grass-fed butter [3].

That introduces a lot of healthy fats that allow her to eat lunch mid-afternoon and extend her intermittent fasting time.

And my dietitian said that Amanda Batula's diet plan is a great recipe for losing weight, even if you don't plan to spend a lot of time exercising for weight loss every single day.

"What worked best for me and was easiest and I saw the best results from was intermittent fasting."

The Amanda Batula Workout Plan

Unfortunately, Amanda hasn't shared much information about her workout plans.

The only thing I saw in one magazine interview is that she said she had tried relying on exercise before but gained weight despite her efforts.

It really looks like, for Amanda Batula, weight loss was entirely possible by focusing on dieting and remaining reasonably active.

Also, looking at her social media accounts, she spends a lot of time outdoors.

She often posts photos of her walking for fat loss and hiking in different parts of the world. So it's not like she has a sedentary lifestyle.

Has Amanda Batula Maintained Weight Loss?

Yes, Amanda Batula maintained the weight loss she attained after her first official season of the Summer House.

Looking at her social media feeds from the past couple of years shows that her figure and fitness have remained stable.

What Amanda Batula's weight loss should prove to people is that no matter how hard you exercise, you simply can't out-train a bad diet.

If you fix your diet and limit your calorie intake, the pounds should start dropping.

Her Supplements

Amanda hasn't shared any details about specific dietary supplements she takes, so I had my dietitian assess what she's most likely relied on.

Because Amanda Batula has quite long intermittent fasting periods, my dietitian said she probably used electrolytes, but he added that a fat burner would be very helpful as well.

These supplements are mainly designed to boost your metabolic rate to burn off more calories.

But they also contain ingredients that can help with appetite suppression.

And considering that Amanda has mentioned that she often doesn't feel hungry until mid-afternoon, that would be a good explanation of how she achieves that.

Take Inspiration And Lose Weight Like Amanda

Follow the approach Amanda Batula took and cut out sugar and carbs from your meal plans, as this might be one of the most important changes anyone can make.

And if you limit overall calorie intake and remain reasonably active to prevent muscle atrophy, the energy can only come from fat reserves.

You should also consider taking one of the fat burners we’ve thoroughly tested with great results:

These aren't magic pills, but over the months ahead, they can make achieving your goals significantly easier.
