As a certified personal trainer, I've researched thousands of weight loss products to supplement my clients' varying fitness needs and limitations.

One of my clients, who works very hard during training, finds comfort in food. So, knowing that Lipozene has a significant effect on appetite suppression, I bought a six-month supply to see if it is worth recommending for craving control to lose weight.

I also tested Lipozene with my team of colleagues and fitness experts just to make the review fully unbiased.

In this Lipozene review, I'll go over what this supplement can do for your body, its benefits and potential side effects, and whether it's a safe and effective supplement worth investing in.

What is Lipozene?

Lipozene Product Sample

Lipozene is a weight loss supplement that may help you feel full, thereby minimizing calorie consumption and delivering mild weight loss effects.

This product is manufactured by Obesity Research Institute LLC and comes in the form of a pill.

The only active ingredient in Lipozene is soluble fiber glucomannan, derived from the root of the Amorphophallus konjac plant that can absorb multiple times its weight, according to one of the studies found on the PubMed website [1].

I saw contradictory reviews on Amazon, with some stating that Lipozene assisted them in losing weight and others reporting that it had a little effect on weight gain or loss.

This scientific backing is a good vouch for the mechanism the Lipozene is built around.

Lipozene has some good reviews on Amazon, suggesting that it's a popular supplement. Many customers award 5 stars, although there's a healthy chunk of 1 star reviews, too.

What are the Ingredients?

Supplement Facts for Lipozene

Lipozene contains only one ingredient: glucomannan fiber. It is a dietary, water-soluble fiber supplement that may help you lose weight when taken as part of a healthy diet and exercise routine.

According to another study found on the PubMed website, glucomannan is a low-fat, low-protein, high-fiber food supplement ingredient commonly used to treat digestive issues and chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity [2].

“Konjac root’s fiber has a very low-calorie content but is very high in fiber. Similar to many vegetables, this is a combination that promotes a healthy waistline. Of course, the rest of your diet has to be healthy, and you also need to be exercising regularly.”

- Annie Price, Certified Holistic Health Coach

As a result, some Lipozene users may benefit from more than just losing weight; they may also improve their overall wellness.

However, as a weight-loss supplement, Lipozene may be less effective than other options. Its lack of potent substances to boost metabolism, activate thermogenesis, and improve focus may make it less appealing to people who are actively looking to lose weight fast.

How Does Lipozene Aid Weight Loss?

pills on a man's hands

Lipozene weight-loss supplements aid in reducing body weight by filling the stomach. When you ingest its main ingredient, glucomannan, with water, it grows to more than 200 times its original size.

This soluble fiber is found in the amorphophallus plant and provides a feeling of fullness when it expands and promotes gut health. That way, it is easy to consume fewer calories when you are full, leading to weight loss.

Each serving of Lipozene is two capsules, containing 1500mg of amorphophallus konjac or glucomannan at 750mg per capsule. They advise taking the capsule three times a day, one before each meal, putting the total at 4500mg.

During our testing, I found that to be a decent dosage to achieve the majority of the benefits they claim.

Taking glucomannan powder has lots of health benefits, such as reducing body weight [3] and cholesterol. It may also lower blood sugar and triglyceride levels. Thus, taking Lipozene diet pills may have similar effects.

This expansion—up to 50x its original size—means the fiber takes up more space in your stomach [4]. As a result, there's less space for high-calorie food, and you feel full more quickly, which may help you lose weight.
The ingredient glucomannan has been medically reviewed as the subject of studies, and it's found to efficiently promote weight loss and burn fat. Some clinical studies negate this claim, and others say it can help with weight loss but have no effect on your BMI [5, 6, 7].

As for food safety, authorities have noted a cause-and-effect relationship between glucomannan and weight loss [8]. As we said earlier, 3g (3000mg) is cited as the optimal dose.

It’s worth noting here that by taking Lipozene as recommended—3 servings of 1500mg per day—you exceed the amount considered to be the safe optimum.

Lipozene Benefits

woman measuring her stomach

Lipozene may only have one active ingredient, but it may provide a number of health benefits for weight loss management and overall wellbeing.

Based on our tests, here are some of the health benefits of taking Lipozene:

  • Increase your sense of fullness throughout the day

The active ingredient in Lipozene weight loss supplement, glucomannan, has the ability to absorb water and expand in the digestive tract, prolonging the feeling of fullness and satiety [9].

  • Assist in the management of chronic conditions

Lipozene may delay the intestinal absorption of sugar and cholesterol from food, assisting in the control of glucose levels in diabetic patients and the reduction of cholesterol levels in people with cholesterolemia [10].

  • Help improve the health of your gut microbiome

The glucomannan in Lipozene may act as a prebiotic by stimulating short-chain fatty acid metabolism and promoting the growth of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract [11].

To top it up, Lipozene is a caffeine-free weight loss formulation that may be beneficial for people who are sensitive to caffeine or other stimulants.

Pros
  • Glucomannan may provide a feeling of fullness throughout the day
  • Caffeine free for users sensitive to stimulants
  • Many users report feeling fuller longer
Cons
  • Lack of ingredient transparency with “proprietary blend”

User Reviews

I found some other Lipozene weight loss pills reviews on Amazon, and I'd like to share the opinions of some of the consumers.

Monica likes how Lipozene was able to suppress her appetite, which has been a problem for her for a long time. She claimed to have lost 20 pounds three months later, and had no jittery side effects.

- Monica from California

For Rina, Lipozene had no effect on her food cravings and weight loss goals. She claims to exercise and take the supplement every day, but she still seeks comfort in food.

- Rina from New York

Natalie dislikes the digestive problems she experienced while taking Lipozene. She added that she couldn't leave the house or do household chores for the first two days because of loose bowels.

Where Can You Buy Lipozene Online?

Lipozene weight loss pills are available online through this Amazon link, which is where I purchased mine.

I pre-ordered a six-month supply to ensure that I had enough weight loss supplements to experience all of its benefits, side effects, and potential weight loss effects.

Ordering online was a breeze. I received my well-packaged supplements sooner than expected, and the entire process was extremely convenient.

Does Lipozene Have Any Side Effects?

side effects

Lipozene may cause a few side effects if taken improperly. If used outside the recommended dosage, the product may cause stomach discomfort but reduce body weight.

During our tests, some of the individuals felt discomfort when they took more diet pills than recommended. They said the feeling is similar to what one would experience after overeating.

Thanks to a short ingredient list, this product has fewer potential side effects than some other dietary supplements.

To avoid these side effects, you should follow the instructions on the bottle to the letter to reduce body weight. There are no shortcuts to weight loss, so taking these supplements more than necessary is only detrimental to you.

Dosage Instructions

Take 2 capsules 30 minutes before meals, with at least 8oz (about 240ml) of water.

Taking more than advised - or using less water than recommended - increases the risks of side effects.

Bear this in mind if you take other supplements: You should ensure that the combined glucomannan amount does not exceed the safe dose (3g per day).

There's also a note on the bottle saying not to take this supplement if you have trouble swallowing.

Note: This critical review does not constitute medically reviewed advice. If you want to make sure whether the active ingredient in Lipozene is safe for you, ask your physician.

Appetite Suppressant Alternatives

Let’s take a look at how Lipozene compares to well-known weight-loss supplements.

PhenQ

PhenQ is a popular supplement with an all-encompassing approach for users looking to reach their weight loss goals, including stopping fat build-up, boosting energy, minimizing stored fat, and suppressing appetite.

PhenQ targets appetite suppression by using chromium picolinate, nopal cactus, and natural caffeine, whereas Lipozen uses one ingredient, glucomannan fiber.

Results speak louder than words, and after several weeks of use together without or carefully crafted diet and exercise plan, most in our test group saw clear improvements in body fat percentage.

PhenQ is quite a bit more expensive than Lipozene, but purchasing from the website guarantees you only a genuine product with generous promotions like free bottles on bulk orders, all backed by a 60-day money-back guarantee.

PhenGold

PhenGold is tailored for women's weight loss needs, featuring a natural formula with thermogenic ingredients such as green tea and L-tyrosine, and B vitamins for energy. Similar to products like Lipozene, it includes glucomannan to aid in hunger control.

Test groups have found PhenGold's formula effective, even with a comprehensive dosing schedule. It is gluten-free and suitable for plant-based diets. Unlike some competitors, PhenGold is available exclusively through its official website.

While it has a higher price point compared to some options, bulk purchase deals are available, and they offer a 100-day money-back guarantee on larger orders.

Powher

Powerher is another weight loss supplement that aims to burn fat and suppress appetite while supporting the specific needs of women.

Both Powher and Lipozene offer adequate amounts of glucomannan for appetite suppression. Powher contains 100 mg of natural caffeine for improved focus, increased energy, and enhanced stamina.

While testing Powher, I found my food cravings decreased as I felt full throughout the day, thanks to the good amount of glucomannan. With the other testers, I had to ensure we took each Powher dose with the recommended amount of water and food to avoid stomach cramps; though mild, they were noticeable.

You can purchase Powher directly from the website, which is always the best way to ensure you get a genuine product. Purchase two items, and they waive the shipping costs.

Lipozene is considered safe. However, some side effects may be felt if one takes more than the recommended dosage of two capsules per day.

Does Lipozene give you energy?

No, Lipozene doesn't give you energy. Glucomannan, its active ingredient, is not a stimulant, so there is no indication that it will give you energy as a supplement. It's a good news if you want to take other energy-boosting supplements.

What Is the Scientific Research Behind Glucomannan and Its Effectiveness?

Glucomannan, derived from the konjac root, is a dietary fiber that aids in weight loss by promoting a feeling of fullness. Scientific studies have shown that it can effectively reduce appetite, leading to decreased calorie intake and weight loss over time.

Is Lipozene Safe to Use?

Lipozene is generally considered safe for most individuals when used as directed. However, potential side effects include gastrointestinal issues like bloating, gas, and diarrhea, especially if not taken with enough water.

How Does Lipozene Compare to Other Weight Loss Supplements?

Lipozene primarily relies on the fiber Glucomannan for weight loss, which differs from other supplements that may use stimulants or fat blockers. Its effectiveness in appetite suppression is comparable to other dietary fibers, but it may lack the additional metabolic-boosting effects found in some other supplements.

Has Lipozene Received Any Regulatory Approvals or Been Subject to Clinical Studies?

Lipozene has not received specific FDA approval, as it is classified as a dietary supplement, which is not subject to the same rigorous testing as pharmaceuticals. However, its key ingredient, Glucomannan, has been studied in clinical trials and shown to be effective for weight loss in several studies.

Our Verdict on Lipozene

According to my experience, Lipozene may help people with mild appetites reduce their cravings.

Throughout my six-month trial of this supplement, I noticed that my mild cravings for fatty foods and sweets had lessened because I was always almost full.

However, I did not lose weight. Lipozene's appetite-suppressant effects are insufficient to assist me in losing even a single pound.

So, I recommend a weight loss supplement that may also boost metabolism, thermogenesis, energy, and focus for people who are serious about losing weight and eliminating those belly fats.

The scientifically proven ingredients in PhenGold may help you improve overall physical performance, burn fat naturally, and reach your weight loss goals fast.
