As a health and performance coach, I’m an eternal skeptic when it comes to these products, and GAT Jetfuel is one of the latest products that our clients and readers have asked about.

And we always give these supplements a fair chance with one of our dietitians and some team testing.

As part of this review, we’ll give you details about the ingredients in the formula, potential side effects, and how and if it actually works.

Let’s dive right in.

What Is GAT Jetfuel?

GAT Jet Fuel is a fat-burning supplement that uses natural ingredients to help boost your metabolism and provide appetite suppression. It may also help users achieve their fat loss goals faster than through exercising and dieting alone.

So, they are upfront about the fact that this isn’t a miracle diet pill that allows you to eat donuts all day while binge-watching Netflix.

In addition to possibly helping with those love handles, it claims to feature energy-boosting ingredients as well.

When you combine higher energy levels with some appetite suppressants, then you might have a product that suits people from a bodybuilding or just health-conscious background.

Who couldn’t do with an energy boost without reaching for that snack drawer, right?

As with all these fat burner supplements, it all comes down to the content.

And this is what our dietitian had to say.

Our trusted dietitian, Susan, spent several hours with us presenting her research information about the long list of ingredients in this weight loss supplement.


DMAE stands for dimethylaminoethanol, and I have no idea how to pronounce it. However, there is some research that has linked it to better athletic performance for weight management.

Overall, the scientific community is still undecided about how effective it is and what the best dose would be.

2. Caffeine Anhydrous

Based on the study found on the PubMed website, caffeine is a common ingredient in fat-burning supplements, and there is no shortage of scientific evidence that it may boost your thermogenic metabolism [1].

Just keep in mind that it contains approximately 200 mg, which is more than a cup of coffee, and the stimulant could mess with your sleep.

3. Guarana Seed Extract

This is another one of the stimulating ingredients, and you might be familiar with it from sports drinks.

Some companies claim that it may provide a mental and physical boost, but we haven’t found enough evidence to support the athletic boost.

4. MCT Oil Powder

We were a bit surprised by this one because it’s not common for a fat-burning product. I regularly use MCT for my bulletproof coffee, which is a good way to get some brain power, but it’s not really going to do anything for your metabolism.

5. American Ginseng Root

Our dietitian mentioned that this is often used in traditional Chinese medicine to support the faster breakdown of body fat. According to an article from the NDTV Food website, it might prevent new fat tissue from developing [2].

6. Bitter Orange Fruit Extract


This is one of the ingredients we’d be a bit cautious about. There is some evidence that it might help with losing weight, but it also contains synephrine, which has been linked to increased heart rate, headaches, and dizziness [3].

7. Yohimbe Bark Extract

Quite a few of our fat burner product reviews have included this bark. Some studies have linked it to fat breakdown and weight loss, but it seems to be a more suitable supplement as an appetite suppressant.

8. Sodium Starch Glycolate

This ingredient we couldn’t quite figure out, as there’s no science supporting it in fat-burning supplements. So if any of our friends and readers have an idea, then please let us know.

9. Phosphatidylserine


This unpronounceable ingredient may provide some benefits to your stress levels through better cortisol regulation. And stress has been linked to weight gain, so it might be a positive compound of the formula.

10. Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR)

Research on ALCAR for weight management is a bit mixed. But we have found evidence that it may help to boost brain power, focus, and motivation [4].

11. Rhodiola Root Extract

This is another one of the positive ingredients as it’s a supplement that dietitians regularly recommend for weight management. The big question is whether there’s enough in each capsule to support your workouts.

12. Hoodia Gordonii Stem Extract

Hoodia Gordonii

It’s believed to have some impact on weight loss by increasing the effectiveness of your metabolism. But studies have been a bit split in their research, especially in the double-blind ones where it didn’t prove very effective.

13. Magnolia Bark Extract

Our dietitian’s experience with magnolia bark is limited, but she thinks that claims of fat reduction might be overhyped.

There’s also limited evidence that it might improve stress and overall mood, so we’d have some questions and reservations about it.

14. L-Theanine

This is one of the better ingredients, and you might be familiar with it from drinking green tea. If you have a low-calorie diet and boost your L-Theanine intake, then it could make your dieting efforts easier by burning more fat.

15. 5-HTP

We’ve had a few recommendations from nutritionists about 5-HTP, and a good serving of it has been shown to reduce hunger cravings. And not reaching for the snack drawer could have a big impact on your dieting efforts.

16. Green Tea Extract

Green tea is something we probably should all be drinking more of, but having it in a supplement capsule might make it a lot easier. Not only is it good for antioxidant delivery, but you might also find it's a decent thermogenic booster.

17. Black Pepper Extract

Black or cayenne pepper extracts are common in supplements as they have been shown to boost nutrient absorption in your stomach. That may mean that the GAT Jet Fuel blend could start acting faster.

Overall, the ingredients list is a bit hit and miss. There are quite a few positive ones in the blend, but also a few where weight loss details and study results are mixed.

GAT Jetfuel works by increasing both your mental and physical energy with its caffeine component. It may also help you deal better with hunger. Finally, some of its ingredients may act as a powerful fat burner that increases your metabolic rate.

The recommended serving size is three capsules one to two times a day. For most people, once a day should be a good starting point.

First of all, using this product might give you quite a mental and physical boost of energy throughout the day. Like other dietary supplements, some of this boost is due to a high concentration of caffeine per serving. 

Whether it’s a long-lasting energy boost is debatable, as people tend to process caffeine differently.

Based on our dietitian's feedback, that might be a bit overstated. Some of the supplement content is backed by science (e.g., caffeine), but not to the extent that we’d call it powerful.

So, we did hear from a few folks that they were able to extend their fasting times in the morning without having that starving feeling.

We also liked the convenient capsules that you could bring with you to work or other activities for a more convenient way to take them.

The main issues we had were down to some of the chosen ingredients.

There’s a high dose of stimulants, and combined with synephrine from bitter orange, it could result in higher blood pressure.

It’s something you may want to monitor.

With so many fake supplements out there, you have to make sure you don’t end up with something dodgy, and buying directly is the safest way to do so. The worst part is you might not even receive any supplements from untrustworthy platforms online.

Any Side Effects?

Taking GAT Jetfuel may have potential side effects, including palpitations and upset stomach.

That's why you always have to be careful when it comes to side effects, especially in supplements containing many different ingredients in the blend.

Our first stop was our dietician, and overall she thought the suggested servings should be safe for most people.

The main negative was the high caffeine amount combined with synephrine, which could cause a rapid heartbeat.

So, any of our readers with any kind of medical condition or taking heart medication should check with a doctor first.

We also noted a few online comments where folks said they had some initial stomach discomfort in the first couple of days.

So, if you are planning to try this supplement, then maybe take a smaller dose for a few days.

Our Verdict on GAT Jetfuel

While we do think that GAT is a good brand, we didn’t quite get the same levels of fat-burning as we have with a few other products.

And when you add in the stimulant side effects noted by our dietitian, then it’s also not the safest option we’ve encountered.

That’s why we still recommend PhenQ to all of our clients and readers.
