As a personal trainer, I am constantly looking for natural products to give my clients an extra push at the gym.

So I wanted to compare two high-quality testosterone boosters, TestoFuel and Testogen.

Along with two groups of my clients, I spent four weeks testing both products to determine which one was more efficient.

Finally, with the help of our dietitian, I compared the ingredients, benefits, and drawbacks.

Keep reading for a full review.

What Are the Main Differences Between TestoFuel and Testogen?

A comparison image of Testogen and TestoFuel

The main differences between TestoFuel and Testogen are the formula and the product form.

Although the two testosterone boosters share many substances, Testogen contains more proven ingredients, such as Bioperine, vitamin D3 and nettle leaf extract.

TestoFuel has some unique ingredients as well, such as oyster extract, vitamin K2, and Maca.

It also has slightly more fenugreek and ginseng compared to Testogen.

Additionally, the dosages of those ingredients differ. Find more on those ingredients shortly.

Both testosterone boosters have 120 capsules per bottle. Still, Testogen is available in the form of capsules and drops, as compared to TestoFuel, which is only available in capsules.

What Is Testogen?

Testogen is a dietary supplement manufactured by UK-based company Muscle Club with the goal of increasing testosterone production.

The product improves libido, energy levels, and strength and reduces fat.

This testosterone booster doesn't contain caffeine or other stimulants and instead relies on all-natural ingredients that have been proven to increase energy levels without the jitters.

After using Testogen for two weeks, I experienced an increase in my motivation and mental clarity while working out and doing my everyday routines.

Within the fourth week, these effects become more pronounced.

What Is TestoFuel?

A buff male working out in the gym with TestoFuel at the top right

TestoFuel is one of the leading testosterone-boosting supplements designed by Roar Ambition in 2014.

It contains natural ingredients that have been shown to be effective in boosting testosterone levels.

When combined with the appropriate diet and exercise routine, we found that this testosterone booster can enhance mental energy and motivation.

Within the third week of using TestoFuel, I felt a lot more motivated to go to the gym and push myself a little further during my training. However, the results got more interesting with time; I’ve gained almost 2 inches on my chest, and my bench press went from 315 lbs to 365 lbs in four months.

Features Head to Head

Here are five key areas that should help you make an informed choice.

Ingredients

Both testosterone supplements had appealing nutritional labels.

They contain D-aspartic acid, vitamin D, Panax ginseng, fenugreek, magnesium, zinc, and boron, but small details can easily give one product an edge over another.

Vitamin K

Testogen contains vitamin K1, while TestoFuel has vitamin K2. Based on our research from the Department of Biochemistry, Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht, vitamin K2 is better absorbed by the body and circulates longer in the blood [1].

A study has revealed that K2 strongly promotes testosterone levels and may play an essential role in steroidogenesis, while K1 does not [2].

Fenugreek

Close up shot of a person holding Fenugreek

TestoFuel has slightly more fenugreek extract included in the formula.

Fenugreek has favorable effects on testosterone and strength levels in men. One study from Science Direct found a statistically significant increase in repetitions to failure in the bench press in fenugreek consumers (7.21 vs. 8.79, p < 0.001) compared to the placebo group [3].

Several studies found that men who took fenugreek had a significant improvement in symptoms related to testosterone levels, like increased libido, mood, strength, and sperm count due to the presence of Furostanolic Saponins [4].

Ginseng

TestoFuel uses a considerable dose of ginseng compared to Testogen.

The ginseng extract is scientifically proven to protect you from dioxins, which may seriously damage your reproductive and developmental systems if left unchecked.

However, studies have shown that large doses and long-term use of ginseng cause insomnia and nervousness [5].

Bioperine

Testogen contains more Bioperine, which significantly increases serum testosterone levels by increasing Leydig cell number and boosting its maturation [6].

Nettle Leaf Extract

The nettle root has been used for centuries as a natural remedy to increase libido and enhance sexual desire.

A study from PubMed shows this ingredient to have an anti-androgen and estrogen effect and may block the sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), with an inhibition dose starting at 0.6 mg/ml and completely inhibiting binding at 10 mg/ml [7].

“Nettle leaves are abundant in fiber, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidant compounds like polyphenols and carotenoids, as well as antioxidant compounds like polyphenols and carotenoids. Stinging nettle has antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic, anti-infectious, hypotensive, and antiulcer characteristics.”

- Magar Sarradha Khasu, Ph.D

Boron

Boron ingredient

Testogen provides a higher dose of boron, a dietary mineral used in many testosterone boosters to enhance energy levels.

Research has shown that boron helps boost testosterone levels [8].

L-Citrulline Malate

Testogen contains this vital ingredient that we cannot find in TestoFuel.

L-citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that helps widen blood vessels, increase the blood flow of oxygen and nutrients through the body's system, and nitric oxide production.

Studies have found that L-citrulline may also treat erectile dysfunction (ED) symptoms [9].

Vitamin D

Vitamin D supplementation has been shown to have a vital role in muscle-building and maintaining muscle contractility [10].

Moreover, several studies have proved that vitamin D deficiency can damage muscle cell function, reducing muscle mass and strength [11].

D-Aspartic Acid

D-Aspartic Acid ingredient

Testogen has 2352 mg of D-aspartic acid, an amino acid responsible for testosterone and luteinizing hormone production.

In comparison, TestoFuel has slightly less DAA in its composition (2000 mg).

Research has shown that DAA can increase testosterone levels in men with hypogonadism.

But other research suggests that it doesn’t increase muscle growth in men who weight train. More research is needed to confirm this [12].

Magnesium

This electrolyte plays a vital role in maintaining healthy testosterone levels.

It has been shown to increase luteinizing hormone (LH), which signals the testicles to raise testosterone production [13, 14].

Magnesium is also essential for controlling the body's calcium levels.

By keeping calcium levels in check, magnesium ensures the body can create optimal testosterone levels.

In addition, it helps prevent cramped and tight muscles, serves as a muscle relaxant, and regulates muscular contraction [15].

Zinc

Zinc is an essential mineral that increases serum testosterone levels in healthy men.

While it does not directly raise T, it prevents the conversion of our already-existing testosterone to other chemicals, which means we have more of it available to use [16].

Effectiveness

A person working out in the gym

To test Testogen and TestoFuel’s effectiveness, my clients and I underwent two weeks of training without any testosterone booster to set a baseline.

Then, we spent another two weeks of training while one group used Testogen and another TestoFuel.

During the time of our testing, both groups of clients kept the same diet and training regimens.

It should be noted that we did two rounds of bloodwork in order to get objective results and took all the necessary measurements of the torso, arms, and legs.

Finally, we compared the results to determine the effectiveness of both products.

Testogen Effectiveness

After comparing the data before and after supplementing with Testogen, we got our first results.

Overall, our clients reported more motivation and quicker muscle recovery.

Most clients were able to increase the number of sets in their workouts.

Moreover, we’ve noticed a considerable increase in testosterone in clients that suffered from hormonal deficiency.

Their levels stabilized, and this substantially influenced their performance and stamina.

Finally, we did notice some growth with most of our clients; however, a longer trial is necessary for accurate results in this sphere.

TestoFuel Effectiveness

A coach in the gym holding a clipboard writing down the effectiveness of TestoFuel

As we did with Testogen, I took TestoFuel daily along with a different group of my customers and compared the outcomes.

After two weeks, most clients reported that their mood was lifted and energy levels were surging, enabling them to tackle intense workouts and push further than before.

Most of the clients in this group experienced better endurance, which, in turn, allowed them to use the training sessions more efficiently.

However, no new growth was recorded among our participants.

Nevertheless, this was not a concern, as the results would most likely show over time.

Supplement Form

While TestoFuel, comes in orally taken capsule form only, Testogen also offers drops (Testodrops).

The drops act more quickly and provide an instant boost in energy, focus, strength, and power while supplementing your body’s natural testosterone production.

The company claims that it delivers efficient ingredients directly to your bloodstream for fast results when you need them.

That’s why this product is ideal before exercising, early in the morning, or after a long shift.

Testogen vs. TestoFuel: Do They Cause Any Side Effects?

A gym coach explaining the side effects of testogen and testofuel

No, Testogen and TestoFuel don't cause any significant side effects because both products are manufactured in FDA-approved facilities.

Although TestoFuel is marketed as an anabolic support complex, both TestoFuel and Testogen rely on natural ingredients to treat testosterone deficiency and improve overall male reproductive function.

I haven’t experienced any side effects from using the two supplements.

However, checking the ingredients before taking the product is best to avoid allergic reactions.

In addition, I always advise my clients to visit a medical expert before taking any dietary supplements if they are taking any prescribed medication.

Ginseng, one of the ingredients found in both Testogen and TestoFuel, can poorly interact when taken with prescribed drugs [17].

Unique Features

Now, let’s highlight the unique features of Testogen and TestoFuel to see if they make one of them a better choice.

Testogen

A buff male working out in the gym with Testogen at the lower left of the image

Vitamin K1: It is the predominant type of vitamin K primarily found in leafy green vegetables or produced from intestinal bacteria.

However, it can be hard to get a high level of vitamin K from food alone.

Research has shown that supplementing with vitamin K1 benefits bone health, blood clotting, and heart health [18].

Nettle leaf extract: Research has shown that this powerful plant can help block testosterone from changing to estrogen [19].

Bioperine: The company claims that Bioperine can improve the bioavailability of Testogen’s ingredients by up to 30%. This means that it will increase the product’s effectiveness as Bioperine helps your body absorb Testogen ingredients better [20].

“Black pepper is a herbal remedy used in a balanced diet. It helps in keeping our digestive system in check. It also increases the bioavailability of many nutrients in our body and that’s why Piperine plays an important role.”

Oyster extract: Oysters are the best food source of zinc, which is necessary for testosterone production.

Zinc brings a number of advantages, including improved muscle mass, enhanced mood, male fertility, mental clarity, and decreased body fat when combined with a restricted calorie diet [21][22].

Vitamin K2: Vitamin K2 has been found to be a potent enhancer of testosterone production in men.

Studies have demonstrated that this vitamin leads to an increase in the formation of testicular cells, which boosts male sex hormone levels and supports reproductive health [23].

Maca (Lepidium Meyenii): TestoFuel contains Maca root extract, a plant reported to improve sexual function and energy levels in healthy men and healthy menopausal women [24].

Price

A person holding up his credit card

The testosterone boosters come at different prices.

TestoFuel costs slightly more than Testogen.

Testogen costs around $59 per bottle, but you can get a discount when ordering three bottles for $179 + 2 bottles at no cost, meaning you will save around $169.

That's a really decent deal for a high-quality product with a reliable and tested formula.

TestoFuel is more expensive – a 1-month supply costs around $65.

But if you get the 2-month supply, you will get a free easy-to-follow video program and detailed nutrition e-books.

Delivery and Shipping

Testogen offers free shipping worldwide.

They have a 100-money-back guarantee which is unprecedented. My experience was positive overall; the shipping was fast, and the packaging was excellent.

The delivery time depends on the shipping company you picked.

The company claims it takes 2–4 working days to get your product, and that's what I experienced with the orders I placed.

However, from my experience, I had TestoFuel products shipped via USPS Priority, and they arrived the same day.

Our Testing Approach

A gym coach writing down tips to choose the right testosterone booster

Several of my male clients expressed interest in trying out the testosterone boosters Testogen and TestoFuel. To ensure consistency and accuracy in our findings, we exclusively selected male participants, given that our focus was on products specifically formulated for men.

We divided them into two even groups, with each group trialing one of the products over a span of six weeks.

Before initiating the experiment, we meticulously recorded their existing diet, workout regimens, T-levels, body fat percentage, and current rate of muscle gain to establish a clear starting point.

Both groups reported noticeable improvements in muscle growth and strength, as well as increased T-levels in a blood test after six weeks. While both products were effective, one did stand out as having a slight advantage.

Additional Considerations

A gym coach writing down on a clipboard

Let's go over some important aspects related to testosterone-boosting supplements.

Timing and Dosage

The best time to take a T booster to ensure the maximum effect is just before you go to bed while your body is resting and the testicles are receiving signals to produce more testosterone.

So, look for a stimulant-free booster that won’t impede your sleep cycle.

Get an Expert Medical Opinion

Some ingredients found in testosterone boosters can interact negatively with prescribed drugs.

For example, vitamin K decreases the effect of blood-thinning medications like warfarin, making it inefficient.

In addition, fenugreek should not be used along with medications that affect blood clotting, while taking L-citrulline with medications that reduce blood pressure can cause the pressure to go too low [25].

Bioavailability of Ingredients

Bioavailability refers to the proportion of a nutrient or substance that enters the bloodstream when it is introduced into the body and becomes available for use or storage.

In the context of testosterone supplements, it determines how effectively our body can absorb and utilize the active ingredients.

Bioperine, derived from black pepper, is renowned for its ability to enhance the bioavailability of other compounds [26].

Lifestyle Factors Influencing Testosterone Levels

Testosterone levels in the body aren't solely influenced by supplements; various lifestyle factors play a pivotal role too.

A diet, rich in zinc and vitamin D, can naturally boost testosterone. Regular exercise, especially resistance training, has been shown to elevate these levels, while chronic stress can lead to prolonged cortisol release, suppressing testosterone [27].

FAQs

What Is the Fastest Way To Increase Testosterone Naturally?

The fastest way to increase testosterone naturally is to improve your diet, mix cardio with strength training, get plenty of sleep, and address any medical conditions.

Is Testogen Good for Bodybuilding?

Yes, Testogen is good for bodybuilding. Higher testosterone levels can promote muscular development and growth, making Testogen a popular supplement among athletes and bodybuilders trying to bulk up.

Our Verdict on TestoFuel vs. Testogen

Although both testosterone boosters worked great for our testing team, after we tallied up the scores it was clear Testogen had the edge.

Based on our testing results and research, it has fewer side effects than TestoFuel and provides a stronger dosage of efficient ingredients.

Moreover, Testogen contains a few extra components that are enough to make a difference.
